Clients usually come to Nauru with one of two alternatives in mind: Vanuatu, the other Pacific option, or a Caribbean passport with Schengen access. The table uses the BRIDGES comparison on its Nauru programme page, updated 9 October 2026, plus my own Caribbean guides.

Amounts are minimum thresholds for one applicant without fees. For Nauru the reduced contribution valid until 31 December 2026 is shown. Saint Lucia starts from $240,000 and Antigua from $230,000 according to BRIDGES.

Nauru or Vanuatu

Both are Pacific programmes without Schengen access. Vanuatu is faster and, according to BRIDGES, part of the contribution can be returned after five years. Nauru is cheaper at entry, takes siblings, and counts dependants from 16 for fees, which a family with teenagers should calculate. I choose Vanuatu when the deadline is very short, and Nauru when the budget and the family composition matter more.

Nauru or the Caribbean

The Caribbean costs two to three times more but gives visa-free Schengen for 90 days in 180 and a longer track record. Nauru is a reasonable choice only if Europe is not the goal or you already have EU residence. Note that the EU is watching investment citizenship closely, and the Caribbean UK situation is also changing, so check each country at the time of filing.

Questions I ask before recommending

  1. Where must the passport take you without a visa?
  2. Who is in the family, and how old are they on the filing date?
  3. How fast do you need the document?
  4. Can you document the source of funds cleanly?
  5. Does your current citizenship limit your choice?

If you are unsure, the complete guide and the other sites in this series, listed in the footer, help to compare programme by programme.
